The Nota Bene Baroque Players Orchestra specializes in historically informed performances of 16th - 18th century music. Playing on historically accurate instruments, these professional musicians provide a fresh sound coming as close as possible to recreating what Bach, Handel, and other composers from the early Baroque to the early classical period intended us to hear.
For this 2017--2018, 16th concert season, the NBBP artistic directorship is led by its "Creative Directors": Julie Baumgartel, Andrew Chung, Rona Goldensher and Joseph Lanza all of whom bring extensive knowledge of historically informed performance practice and of stage performance experience.
The Nota Bene Baroque Singers, celebrating it's 5th season, following their inaugural concert of the Messiah on Palm Sunday 2014, have established themselves as a leading professional chamber choir. Ranging in size from 16 to 18 singers, all of whom are soloists in their own right, this accomplished ensemble has presented impressive performances of some of the most demanding repertoire from the Baroque era. Under Howard Dyck’s dynamic leadership, the Nota Bene Baroque Singers concerts are eagerly awaited throughout southwestern Ontario.
