Nota Bene Baroque Players & Singers continue their pre-Easter tradition with two vividly contrasting choral gems. Heinrich Schütz’s Musikalische Exequien, a German Requiem, illustrates the glory of the early Baroque, while Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem is an iconic masterpiece that anticipates the Romanticism of the 19th Century while also revealing its deep indebtedness to the High Baroque.
* This concert is dedicated to the memory of Michael Purves-Smith (1945-2018)
